The snow has arrived with vengeance here in Queenstown, with some great snow falls across all 4 ski fields in the last 10 days – skiers are very happy! There is a number of events happening around Queenstown in August for all to enjoy.
The Road to Beervana kicks of on Aug 2 – and will be stopping by Arrowtown this year. The Road to Beervana is New Zealands biggest and all -inclusive beer weeks. Expect tastings, dinners, takeovers and loads more unique experiences celebrating some ot the best beers in the Wakatipu Basin and in Central Otago. All of the breweries showcased will be heading for the National Beervana in Wellington later in the month.
Clicquot In the Snow is returning to Queenstown this August and this year it promises to be even better – It builds on both local and international success which has seen this iconic winter experience become a must attend. This will be the 9th year that Veuve Clicquot has brought the event to Queenstown and we make it a must attend on the Queenstown Holiday Homes Calendar. Come and join in for the long lunch, gala night and speech from The Veuve Cliquot ambassador. Tickets for each event can be purchased online.
Over the years The Winter Games has become one of the most competitive international winter events with athletes from all over the world flocking to Queenstown to compete. On August 23 The Winter Games returns to the Lakes District and gives us all the chance to be part of the action. This will be the seventh edition of the Games and will be taking place over August and September, with events being held in Queenstown, Wanaka and Naseby. Cheer along the athlete in a broad range of events from Giant Slalom, to Ice Hockey, Half Pipe riding to Curling. All events are free to watch with your friends and family and if you are not skiing feel free to go check out some of these events.
