Winter is here!  and if you cant smell it in the air, you can probably see the snow on the mountains.  We hope you have got your ski plans sorted , if you are not planning on hitting the slopes there is no need to stress, we have got you covered with a variety of activities off the slopes that are sure to keep you entertained for the whole of June

 LUMA light festive is one of Queenstown Holiday Homes favourite events to come to Queenstown each year.  Join us for back to back evening of entertainment and illuminated art.  LUMA is a family friendly event and it’s free!.  Running for the whole of Queens Birthday weekend in the Queenstown Botanical Gardens the lights come on when the sun goes down and all the exhibitions are open until late.

Kiwi comedy legends are coming to town on Wednesday the 19th of June on their first ever filming tour and you could be in the crowd. See Jeremy Corbett do his best to control thinks as Paul Ego,Dai Henwood, Ben Hurley , Cori Gonzalez Macuer, Hayley Sproull and Mel Bracewell dissect the weeks news. Laugh out loud as part of the audience at The Memorial Hall Queenstown on Wedneday, then hear yourself laughing out long on TV Three on Friday June 18.

Experience a Maori New Year in Queenstown on June with The Matariki Torchlight Hikoi, a walk through the streets of Queenstown and onto Marine Parade where you will be greeted by a  breath taking  cultural welcome. Proceedings will be kicking off in Earnslaw Park with a traditional Karakia before being guided through our beautiful streets, welcoming in New Zealands Winter in true celebratory style. Some come along, celebrate the rising of the Matariki with us. Tickets can be purchased via Eventfinda.

For the past 44 year, Queenstowns winter has always started with one mother of a party and with this years Winter Festival celebrating its’ 45th birthday, the celebration is only going to be bigger.  The Real Journeys Queenstown Winter Festival reflect the diversity and vibrancy of our community. We showcase why we are so proud of our place and invite you to come and share that with us. The Festival will be jam packed with events on and off the slopes, from Mardi Gras to suit case races and dog barking competitions to Alpine Festivals. There is something everyone looks forward to in this festival calendar. We encourage everyone visiting Queenstown over this period to participate in the celebration and be part of the actions.
